Good evening friends. I just finished up my recording session for the day with producer extraordinaire Sinclair Davis - a/k/a Slightly B... We worked on an idea for a song that started off as a poem I wrote. The tricky thing about it was the poem didn't rhyme, so I had to rewrite it to make it rhyme for the song. I worked it out though!
In the song I started off writing about intimacy between this girl and this guy and how he makes her feel when they are in the moment. But being the writer that I am (open-minded), and working with a genius producer such as Sinclair, the song ended up being about something different.
The song is tentatively titled "Spirit Free" and the music sounds like it could put you in a trance. The melody sounds like euphoria. The lyrics are talking about the intimacy between this girl and her man...but is it really? It sounds like I could be using the man as a metaphor for a powerful hallucinogen. Which kind, I don't know. It could be smack, rush, ecstasy, 'shrooms, meth or jenkums. lol!
Now I'm in the process of trying to incorporate some lyrics that insinuate she's on drugs and to her, the drugs make her feel as good as the feeling of making love. Once it's finished, I know it's gonna be fire. I mean shoot-it-in-a-spoon with the-lighter-under-it kind of fire and I can't wait for you to hear the completed song.
