Music Journal No. 2 - The Evolution of XTC
Sorry it took me so long to post another blog. Your girl has been busy, busy, busy. I finally finished up "Spirit Free" but the title (and the hook) of the song has changed to "XTC". If you read my previous blog you'll see it's a perfect fit. I'm going to post an extended snippet of the completed song in a couple of days, for your listening pleasure.
This weekend I have to get on my grind ya'll. Heck, I may even have to spend a couple of nights at the studio literally (lol) . I have to have my album completed and mixed by the end of February. So far I have about nine songs that are definitely going to make the cut but I have to do alot of writing, re-writing and adding to some of the other songs that are going to be on the debut LP. I'm ready to work though!
Stay tuned my friends because the best is yet to come! I'll be sure to keep you informed when I post the new music but feel free to hit me up anytime. Ciao

Music Journal No. 1: Spirit Free - Work In Progress
In the song I started off writing about intimacy between this girl and this guy and how he makes her feel when they are in the moment. But being the writer that I am (open-minded), and working with a genius producer such as Sinclair, the song ended up being about something different.
The song is tentatively titled "Spirit Free" and the music sounds like it could put you in a trance. The melody sounds like euphoria. The lyrics are talking about the intimacy between this girl and her man...but is it really? It sounds like I could be using the man as a metaphor for a powerful hallucinogen. Which kind, I don't know. It could be smack, rush, ecstasy, 'shrooms, meth or jenkums. lol!
Now I'm in the process of trying to incorporate some lyrics that insinuate she's on drugs and to her, the drugs make her feel as good as the feeling of making love. Once it's finished, I know it's gonna be fire. I mean shoot-it-in-a-spoon with the-lighter-under-it kind of fire and I can't wait for you to hear the completed song. In the meantime, I've put up a snippet of one of the verses on the Myspace player for you to hear. I hope you like it.

Natassja's Bio
A gifted writer with an exquisitely unique approach to melody and song styling, Natassja ventured tenuously into the professional end of the music business at the gentle urging of those close to her. However, it wasn't until receiving validation from producer Sinclair Davis, who confirmed to her that she had a genuine gift, that she began sitting in on recording sessions and crafting hooks and melodies.
In very short order Natassja had begun collaborating with the more seasoned songwriters who made their way through the Hi-Lyfe Recording studios. Focusing on building her overall strength in the performance areas - and at Davis' invitation, Natassja eventually began lending her vocals to varied projects in the Hip-Hop and R&B genres.
A new-school soul child who is part songwriting machine and part song siren, Natassja writes with the fluidity and craftmanship of writers many years her senior. Having developed a reputation as an extremely fast worker (she's been known to craft and demo a song in an hour), Natassja is currently inching her way onto the music scene with a catalog of self-penned tunes that are already turning heads.
Recently putting her vocal touches on the hip-hop feel good women's anthem "Breathe" by Liv-Ya-Life/Universal recording artist P.E.S.O.'s, Natassja is also collaborating with artists in diverse musical arenas to help develop the caliber of skill that will ensure her longevity in a world that she loves; the world of music.
Natassja. the millenial chanteuse is bringing her own branded "Cosmic Soul" to listeners everywhere in 2008. Stay tuned!

Vanilla and Sandlewood
Loving her with no inhibitions
Every sensation, to her
felt as if he was reading her mind
No sense of urgency
Only flesh and warmth
He paid attention
To all of her
Every single curve
Held her close and
She listened to his words
As he spoke pillow in her ear
She tried to describe
the exact feeling
But was not able
So she spoke to him in sounds
Those of pleasure
And responded to his kisses
with deep breaths
This was no average love session
this was Raheem DeVaughn's "Marathon"
Van Hunt's "Seconds of Pleasure"
Martin Luther McCoy's "Truth or Dare"
Prince's "Insatiable"
And that she was
He thought of her like a feather
Falling upon him, a calm lake
Thousands of tiny ripples
soared though his body
Holding on to her so gently
Showing her exactly why
men evolved with those
broad shoulders
His soul begging her
to set his spirit free.......

T.
at mothers smile
or
an offering of water
for trekking miles
To feel the breeze
and hear wind chimes
for
happiness is yours
as it is mine
The markings of love
peirce through her eyes
the makings of she
peirce through his
A certain glow
is how one knows
etched in the heart
with a kiss
Undone are plenty
yet
beautiful love thrives
remain an inspiration
for many a life
When winter comes
precious gift arrives
one of many reasons
He's so proud
you are his wife
Love Uninterrupted

My Lips
Full and glossed
My mothers bottom
My fathers top
A pout that mimics
What I cannot say
Soft and supple
Sweet to taste
Luscious to some
Thick like slave
"Chai "adorns their
Heart like shape
Girls get injected
To resemble me
But mine are plump
And Collagen free
In case you ever wonder
How good is the kiss
Feels like

Burgundy Dreamer
came to him like a breath of fresh air
"finally"
he thought to himself
all that typing had given him
writers hypnosis
but
"the block"
had been relieved
all that weight lifted from his shoulders
"Yeah"
he thought to himself
calm enough to take the next sip of his latte
content enough to smile at the idea he was very excited on the inside
"this one is gonna be a best seller"
he thought to himself
"they better watch out"

The Crabapple Tree
The air was dank
and smelled like there was a beach nearby
You and I enjoyed summer evenings like this
Teenyboppers
You had on those damn
A. Hardaway's
And I had on my favorite pair of Bongo jeans
We sat under the Crabapple Tree
And talked about our ambitions
Our futures
Life
We sang our favorite songs
like Subway's "Hide and Seek"
All out of tune
Spent the night laughing
Then we kissed
right before the street lights came on
I raced home
But I hated leaving you
I wanted that night
to last forever
When they told me what happened
It rocked my world
I haven't looked at life the same since
I will forever think back to that perfect summers night
Always thought it'd be you I'd share my deams with.
